Jenny spent the summers of her childhood in the countryside of Eastern Washington. The days were hot, sometimes too hot to play outside, so she would play in the barn with her sister and cousins. There was something magical about those old barns. After a successful venture as a hot yoga instructor and studio owner, she began painting old dressers to keep busy. However; her native Walla Walla senses developed a passion and appreciation for the vintage world as she expanded her horizons to picking' in old barns in search of items to paint. Digging around those old barns reminded her of a nostalgic past. She bought an old pick-up truck and started bringing home more and more finds, and the stuff just kept selling. Jenny is known in the vintage world as a relentless pursuer of the best, the most, and the coolest junk waiting to be rescued. She has always had a keen eye for staging. Her creative use of junk has helped her make a name in the regional junking scene. Jenny has staged for weddings, consulted for vintage businesses, and taught numerous people the art of the pick.
A teacher by trade and addicted collector by hobby and choice, Coby has been lovingly dubbed as Jenny's "really old big brother." Coby has always loved items that "told a story" and helped him bring classroom lessons to life. His picking passion began when he saw one of the first barns constructed in Snohomish nearing its dilapidated end. Unable to see the barn go up in flames or rot away, he single-handedly salvaged the barn one 125+ year old board and beam at a time. Coby is a lover of stories, and his rush is the hunt of the story and saving pieces of history that are vanishing. Although people call him a picker, he really prefers the self-labeled term of a "digger" because if he ain't dirty, he ain't rescuing the real treasures. If you recognize this guy he used to produce some of the areas most notable drinking events.
This duo is like the classic Batman (Jenny) and Robin (Coby) risking life and limb to rescue...junk in this case. "It's worth the risk" is how these two work. Jenny and Coby are two of the most dedicated and adventurous pickers you will meet. Old Shed Vintage was created for the love of pickin and diggin. Jenny and Coby have visited barns from boarder-to-boarder in their quest to find and save the coolest treasures from yesteryear. But after doing multiple vintage shows they wanted to help create an epic event that would save lives while showcasing awesome vintage finds. Creating a partnership with Craven Farm and the Eastside Fireman's Benevolent Fund, the Northwest Vintage & Vino spectacular was born.
